Computer Network Support Plans
Digifix provides computer network support in either of two plans:
- As Needed - this is the pay as you go plan, sometimes referred to in IT support circles as 'break / fix'. It is the traditional way that IT services have been provided, and many clients are more comfortable and prefer this way of obtaining computer network support.
The advantage to as needed support is that you don't incur any network support costs if you don't have any problems. That means that you can devote those resources to running your business. The disadvantage is that from time to time you may incur large expenses if you have significant computer network issues that need to be addressed. In addition, you may annoying repeat problems that you are reluctant to fix because of cost. In the long run, the inconvenience can become a significant hidden expense.
We send a technician as quickly as we can to address your problem and fix it. In addition, we will identify any other potential problems, recommend appropriate remediation in accordance with your network reliability needs and expense tolerance. We consider all our clients to be cost sensitive and make suggestions only when they make sense for the client. - Managed Services - this is the new way to deliver computer network support to small businesses. For a set monthly fee, we monitor your network, apply software upgrades as they become available, provide user support, troubleshoot and fix problems, and supply a monthly report of all activity.
There are still additional charges for replacement hardware when items fail or need to be upgraded. There are also charges for network projects such as adding new workstations and printers, or changing out routers to accomodate a new Internet service provider.
The advantage to managed service is that it ensures that your network stays up to date, that normal maintenance gets done in a timely manner, and that everything runs reliably. It also makes computer maintenance costs predicatble. Managed service clients pay less per hour per hour for services than if they were buying support services 'as needed'.
